Musicians As Citizens Camp

Session 1: July 8-12
Session 2: July 15-19

Deadline to apply: June 1

Volunteer and play chamber music in two unique weeks! MAC Camp offers the opportunity to mentor young musicians in Neighborhood Strings for 5 days while also playing an advanced chamber music group. This opportunity is ideal to fulfill National Honor Society hours for high-school musicians seeking a way to give back through their art.

Students enrolled in MAC Camp will work with the young string players enrolled in Neighborhood Strings, WCMS’s intensive music program for underserved communities in Worcester. No previous mentoring experience is required; MAC campers will help with all activities alongside the experienced program teaching artists. Daily activities include ensemble, sectionals, workshops, musical games, and outdoor play.

Students in MAC Camp have the option to play together in 1-2 chamber music groups and receive a daily coaching with a faculty string coach. Chamber groups will perform in the final concert at the end of the week.

Daily Schedule: 10:00am-3:00pm

Location: Main South Community Development Corporation
